  3. Hey guys, just watched your cargo vid it looked AWESOME! Hope you arrived safetly and you are still having a fab time whilst us poor souls slave away over our 9 to 5’s!! Steve and I have just booked a holiday to South Africa end of April but in the whole scheme of things it all seemed to kinda pale in comparison! You’ll be pleased to know Nairn Close aka your old pad is all still standing and yes… as I type it’s peeing with rain as we muddle through the Great British springtime. Miss you both and keep safe. Lots of love Lucinda and Steve xxx

    • Hey Lu, so great to hear from you chickadee. You would have been so proud of me today, I salsa’ed my butt off to a large group of Argentinian bikers at a party! There was one older guy who had rhythm so just went for it. I’m gonna hurt real bad tomorrow morning, hah ha! Probably ate my head weight in lamb too, roasted for hours over an open fire. Don’t think I can call myself a veggie any longer…Love the Argentinians, they are truly gorgeous people whose hospitality knows no bounds. Right, gotta dash and good to hear about that S.A trip, you’re gonna love safari, the ‘big five’ (or nine) and the brais. When do you go and which part are you visiting? L xxx

  5. It sounds like you’re having a great time, worth the 5 weeks of travelling just to meet Maria and Diego, amazing! Horizons Unlimited led me to your blog, which I am now following with much anticipation – good luck🙂 (Given our experiences of travelling with metal panniers, I’m interested to know how you protect your tech, specifically a full DSLR camera and extra lens! Everything gets shaken to bits unless in the tank bag.)

    • Yes, Maria & Diego were solid gold. The fragile tech is in my tank bag (camera/Lenses) the rest, like charges and leads etc is in my panniers. Time will tell whether this is a good idea. I’ve discovered that things are rubbing together especially on the gravel roads. Thanks for the comments Keith.

    • No i don’t have testicles of a bull, it easy as long as your prepared to given up a few comforts now and again. The fear is greater than the actual experience.

  9. I got to your blog after reading about your travels in Adventure Bike Rider (sept/Oct 2014). Wow, at last a motorcycle blog that’s beautifully written (not to mention the amazing films which I have no idea how you filmed.) I love most of all your descriptions of falling asleep! ‘The bed duvet was downy and heavy, I slept like a baby full on milk….Sleep came to me like an unseen assailant.’

    • Thanks Mike, really thoughtful of you to say so. I never really paid attention to falling asleep before this trip – largely because I don’t think I ever really experienced tiredness like this, hah ha! Happy riding, L&J x

    • Hi George, thanks for getting in touch. For our review on the cargo ship, search on TWN for the blog with the words ‘cargo ship’. All the contact info is on the ‘Trip Info’ tab, which I hope you’ll find useful. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Lisa

  16. Hi, Jason & Lisa, great job you’re doing out there, trying to keep up with your trek as much as possible. I’ve known your dad Terry for a long time now (friend of a friend here in Swaffham,Norfolk) and whenever he’s down this way, we natter about you a fair old bit,(he’s immencely proud of his wandering son). Several other mutual friends also following your exploits after I told them of your trip. Sometimes it’s a bit difficult for some to work out where you are if they’ve not checked in for a week or two, so any chance of putting a map in with a squiggly line on it to show your route so far. Anyway, glad to see you’re having such a marvellous journey and doing a bloody good job of reporting it. Look forward to the next excert. Good luck to you both, all the best, Paul Holbrook.

    • Hi Paul, thanks for such a great message. You’re not the first person to ask exactly where we are on the globe, we’re pretty good at posting little messages and extra photos up on our Facebook page ‘Two Wheeled Nomad’ but not everyone has the time nor the inclination to indulge that one. If you’re not already on it, don’t start…It’ll only become a bad habit time-stealer! We’ll definitely make more of a concerted effort to keep everyone abreast of our exact whereabouts as know a few of our friends and family like to track our progress on a map, a world one or just a mental picture. Right now, we’re in Sucre, Bolivia where in a couple of days time we’ll be heading straight for the Salar de Uyuni (again but this time to see the one and only Dakar :o) Cheers Lisa & Jase X
